Well, if you don’t want to review my long resume, here is what I am in brief:

AnkanBasu.Com is for fun and keeping touch with family and friends. This is not a site where I would discuss my work or complex geochemical reactions.  Neither would I say a word about geology or coal. So, what to expect? You will get occasional updates when I get a chance, with some pictures and some videos. That’s pretty much all I will do over here.

I am living in a small town “Bluefield” in Virginia for last 5 years. We have not too much exciting stuff to do like big clubs, film fests and so on. But we do have more than enough to live. We got a Walmart, a Kmart, a Kroger, some great places to eat and all of the regular fast food shops.

I travel frequently for my job. You must visit the field to be a geologist. Life is good in the months of summer. It becomes somewhat troublesome during the winter time. We get a lot of snow. After living here for 5 years, I can now stand the below freezing cold better than I used to.

Don’t know what else to write. What about some geology? Well I promised not to bore you with the subject. Enjoy.

Creative Writing:

1. Onorthok Aghater Daag – Rohosso Uponnyas! This was my second effort to write something like a “story” and first attempt to make it look like a detective story too. The story is based on a real incident and you are welcome to read it when you have some time. Click Here to Download PDF version.
2. Krishno-Leela (Rommo Rochona): This was my first attempt to write something bigger than poetry. Sometimes I feel like it is too easy to write poems! However, these days, I can not even write anything decent on poems! Anyways, Krishno Leela is a nice composition and discusses our one particular culture in Calcutta. I hope you will love reading this one.
3. There are numerous poems. I will list some when I get some time again.
